17 injured in taxi collision

'Cause of the collision is not yet known' — ER24.

A taxi collision on the N12 outside of Potchefstroom early on Friday left seventeen people injured.

According to ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring “Paramedics from the Potchefstroom branch arrived on scene and found the wrecked taxi lying on the side of the road.

“The occupants of the taxi were found sitting on the nearby pavement. On assessment, paramedics found that 17 people had sustained only minor injuries in this collision.

“Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Potchefstroom Hospital for further treatment.

“The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.”
