Mohlakeng threatens to riot

'Police are monitoring the area since 1am this morning but it is quiet now and business as usual in area,' — Police.

In the early hours of the morning, there was unrest in Mohlakeng, says Bellah Motlashuping, resident of Mohlakeng.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Spokesperson for the Randfontein Police, “there has been isolated incidents where roads inside Mohlakeng were blocked with rocks and stones. Police are monitoring the area since 1am this morning but it is quiet now and business as usual in area.”

When the herald was on scene, three police vehicles were on the scene monitoring the situation. Those three vehicles left and another three reached the scene. In addition to this, there were two heaps of burning materials at the extension 3 entrance to Mohlakeng.
