Good luck, Proteas

'Winning the World Cup will have tremendous benefits in fostering social cohesion and nation building.'

The Portfolio Committee on Sport and Recreation wishes the national cricket team, the Proteas, well for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup starting on 14 February until 29 March in Australia.

The Proteas have performed exceptionally well in the recently concluded one-day series against the West Indies in South Africa and the Committee is confident that they will continue their good form at the World Cup.

South Africa’s first game for the Cricket World Cup will be against Zimbabwe on Sunday (15 February) followed by the second ranked India on Sunday (22 February).

The Committee urges South Africans to rally behind the Proteas, as winning the World Cup will have tremendous benefits in fostering social cohesion and nation building.
