Painting in the Park a huge success

Knowledge between artists shared at informative event.

The Randfontein Art Association held their ‘Painting in the Park’ gathering recently discussing various aspects of art with other artists helping them create a market for their work.

The event was presented in the gardens of Cum Laude Art School by the management of the association under the auspices of Magriet Botha, the chairlady.

About 20 members of the association attended the event. It was a beautiful summer’s day and the artists happily unpacked the picnic baskets they brought along and held informed and invigorating discussions about art and techniques as well as materials.

Artists worked on paintings and drawings, or picked an object from the garden which each of them reproduced on canvas in their own unique styles.

These art association events will be held on a quarterly basis and will be complemented by a quarterly art exhibition held at Hamilton’s Executive Estate.  The purpose of these functions is to expose the artists to exterior influences and broaden their knowledge.

The next Exhibition will be at Hamilton’s Executive Estates on 21 February.

All artists who are interested to exhibit their work can contact Magriet Botha on 082 465 2519.  The public is welcome to attend the exhibition and enjoy the beautiful art on display.
