No spoilt broth at snooker club re-opening

Westcol chefs host successful snooker evening at Randfontein Golf and Country Club.

As part of the Westcol Chefs Academy assessments, Westcol College has joined forces with the Randfontein Golf and Country Club to give their chefs the opportunity to host various functions.

According to Lillian Swanepoel, a representative of the Randfontein Golf and Country Club, the chefs from the academy will host various functions.

One of these functions was the re-opening of the Randfontein Snooker Club early in October.

“The first group of chefs decided to host a snooker evening for the re-opening of a lost gem at the golf course, the Randfontein Snooker Club,” says Swanepoel.

During this event chefs Ryno Rossouw, Brandon-Marc Wheeler and Wise Dlamini were responsible for the success of the evening.

Marietjie Scholtz from the Chefs Academy explains that these chefs prepared and served the food and beverages during the event. They were assessed on their performance.

“Not only was this a great opportunity to assess these chefs, but it also gave them an idea of what the industry is like,” says Scholtz.

Snooker players from the Randfontein Gentlemen’s Club came to support these chefs during their exams and they also enjoyed an evening of snooker at the Randfontein Golf and Country Club.

“The evening was a staggering success. I really am proud of the chefs and what they have accomplished during this practical exam,” says Scholtz.
