Local beauty graces cover of Sarie
Westonaria's Monique Sutherland, 22, wins competition out of 12 000 entrants.
Westonaria beauty Monique Sutherland made her community proud when she appeared on the cover of national Afrikaans magazine Sarie’s October issue.
According to Sutherland she was the winner of the magazine’s competition to have one reader on its cover.
“I entered the competition online after my friend persuaded me to. I didn’t think I had it in me to crack it but I did it anyways,” she explains.
“There was more than 12 000 entrants, so the competition was quite stiff,” says Sutherland who adds that she made it to the competition’s top 36 and later into the top 10.
She was announced the winner of the competition on 9 September in Pretoria where she was rewarded with a R50 000 cash prize.
In addition, Sutherland also walked away with make-up from Revlon, a TV, camera and a tablet from Samsung as well as other goodies from spree.co.za and Clicks.
She says she is excited about this and loves her gifts.
