Residents host event against drug abuse

'More and more people are keen on being educated about drugs.'

Residents of Mohlakeng and those from other parts of the West Rand recently hosted a  successful anti-drug campaign at the Ramosa Hall in Mohlakeng.

The event saw people flock to the premises to get a bit of knowledge about drugs and the consequences thereof as well as alcohol abuse.

“I am really happy with how many people attended the campaign and showed support,” says Percy Mahesu, one of the entertainers at the event.

“It goes to show that more and more people are keen on being educated about drugs and how they can be detrimental to one’s life. This on it’s own shows that people are heading towards the right direction in terms of fighting this scourge.”

He adds that at the event, presentations were made on a projector which drew a clear picture of what illegal substances can do to one’s system and how it can affect one’s life.
