Pamela inspires a community

Pamela strives to inspire the youth through her life experiences.

Pamela Serage is a Carryou Ministry success story.

At the recent Carryou Ministry’s annual general meeting Serage addressed the youth and the community, devoting her time to inspire the youth.

Serage explained that she came from a child-headed family as both of her parents hadpassed away.

“I grew up with my brother and fortunately our parents left us a house. I was introduced to Carryou by a wonderful woman. At that time she was my brother’s teacher, Ms Abrams,” said Serage.

She explained that she met Pam Jamison and Sue Haywood at the Toekomsrus Drop-in Centre and from that day her life has changed for the better.

“I wanted to be a geologist, but God had other plans for me. I enrolled at the University of Johannesburg and managed to complete my course in environmental health,” said Serage.

After completing her studies, Serage worked as a port health officer at Lanseria International Airport. Thereafter she became a health inspector for the whole of West Rand and is currently employed as a superintendent for waste minimisation and education at Merafong City Local Municipality.

During this speech, Serage encouraged the youth to stand up and make a difference, regardless of their background and the pain they’ve encountered.

“I just want to thank everyone at Carryou Ministry for playing such an important role in my life. It was not easy, I was young and there were many temptations, but I thank God that I was able rather to focus on bettering my life. I am now a board member and it’s my passion to make a difference in someone’s life,” said Serage.
