Town geared up for Cansa Relay
Join the fight against cancer by taking part in the Cansa Relay for Life in September.
After enjoying great success during Randfontein’s first Relay for Life in 2013, members of the community now can enter the 2014 campaign and unite in the fight against cancer.
Cansa staff partner Zandri Schickerling confirmed that this year’s Relay for Life will take place on 26 September at the Greenhills Sport Stadium. It will be the second year that a Cansa Relay takes place in Randfontein.
Schickerling says, “The goal behind the Relay for Life is to celebrate our cancer survivors, to remember those lost to this disease and to honor those who still are fighting against cancer.”
The entry fee for this year’s Relay for Life is R750 per team. Children under the age of 12 years and cancer survivors will not be charged to take part.
Schickerling adds that all the money raised through this initiative will be in aid of Cansa West Rand.
