Quinton Fortune inspires Toekomsrus

Former Manchester Utd star visits Randfontein Secondary School to inspire the youth.

Coming from a poor background former Manchester United soccer star Quinton Fortune recently visited Randfontein Secondary School to inspire and motivate the youth.

During his speech Fortune explained that he had to make sacrifices in order to achieve greatness.

“I had to work hard and rise above my circumstances in order to be great. I was just like you, I had to face several obstacles but it did not stop me and it should not stop you from reaching your goals in life,” Fortune said.

The event was a staggering success and the pupils were all excited to meet one of their heroes. After Fortune’s speech, he took the time to greet all the pupils. Hugs and photos with the South African legend followed and was by far the highlight of the pupils’ day.

For the soccer lovers in the school Fortune also showed off his skills with ball and afterwards gave pupils in the hall the opportunity to boast with their skills.

“I want to thank my sponsor Kansai Plascon and Randfontein Secondary School for this remarkable opportunity. I truly believe that my visit to this school inspired the youth to rise above their problems and achieve greatness,” says Fortune.

He also used this opportunity to remind the pupils that humanity, hard work and humbleness are the core of any success story.

The pupils enjoyed every moment of this experience and some were lucky enough to receive a signed soccer ball from one of the greatest South African soccer stars.

After the formalities were settled in the hall, Fortune even took the time to host a soccer clinic for the school’s soccer players.
