Woman to boost local economy by teaching women and the youth how to make and sell bead jewellery.
Iris Khosana, owner of Iris Geyodi Empowerment, is devoted to boosting the local economy by teaching women, the youth and disabled people to make and sell bead jewellery.
According to Khosana she strives to help those less fortunate to generate an income through becoming an entrepreneur.
Although Khosana is based in Vanderbijl Park, she has made herself available to the Randfontein community for guidance and help in becoming a self-employed entrepreneur.
“By helping the women, youth and disabled people in the community learn the skill of making bead jewellery, I give them the opportunity to become an entrepreneur and generate an income. This will improve job opportunities and the local economy,” says Khosana.
She adds that she presents a two-day course to anyone who is interested.
“I also work hand in hand with Nedbank who will teach these people more about entrepreneurship and business skills,” says Khosana.
Khosana explains that she will host workshops anywhere in Randfontein if there are people who want to make use of her services.
“I strive to help as many people as possible.”
She adds that all one needs to become a self-employed entrepreneur is a little guidance and creativity to market their product. With high unemployment rates, this is the perfect opportunity for people in the community to learn a new skill and generate an income.
