DA invites public to urgent municipal meeting

DA ward councillors in Randfontein will be hosting a community meeting and invite residents of the area who are unsatisfied with the municipality to attend.

The meeting will be held on 19 July from 12pm to 2pm at the Randgate Boxing Hall. Issues to be discussed include incorrect water and electricity accounts as well as incorrect rates and taxes statements.

In an interview with the herald, DA ward 4 councillor Sina Erasmus says “This will hopefully end the chaos that is happening in Randfontein with regards to people being billed incorrectly.

“It’s no secret that residents of Randfontein are always up in arms over the municipality’s billing system and we feel that needs to be addressed,” Erasmus said.

“Without any doubt residents of this town are already paying too much for services that they sometimes don’t use,” says Erasmus who adds that municipal heads of department will also be at the meeting to address residents concerns.
