Bobby – No SAFA contact about Baxter

“It would be unethical to even give our coach a deadline to make up his mind."

The football manager of Kaizer Chiefs Bobby Motaung confirms that there has been no contact from the South African Football Association (SAFA) with regards to their Stuart Baxter.

There have been reports in the media that SAFA are looking at Baxter and Maritzburg United coach Steve Komphela for the Bafana Bafana technical director role, a person whose job will be to work hand-in-hand with the new national team coach.

“It would be unethical to even give our coach a deadline to make up his mind about something they have not even discussed with us,” Motaung told TimesLive.

“The chairman [Kaizer Motaung] and I have always thought about this as a rumour, but it seems to be gaining momentum. The coach hasn’t said anything to us as well.”

Chiefs and Baxter are currently in pre-season, preparing for the season-opening Carling Black Label Cup on July 26 against Orlando Pirates.
