Bikers club holds charity jol

The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the needy for the Easter holidays.

More than 20 bikers belonging to the Ablaze West-Vaal Motorcycle Club hosted a successful Easter Charity Day Jol in aid of local homeless children.

The event was held at the Biltong Tavern in Westonaria on 29 March.

The event consisted of bike races, mind blowing stunt shows, and even a beauty pageant.

According to the the club’s public relations officer Leonie Griesel, the event of was a massive success.

“The purpose of the event was to help raise funds for the needy for the Easter holidays and I am thrilled about the turn out.

“A lot of people from the West Rand attended the event and we managed to raise a whopping R7 000, some of which was donated to Outreach Ministries in Randfontein.

“This will help to buy food, clothes and whatever necessities for winter and ensure that the children in their care have a memorable Easter holiday,” says Griesel.

She adds that the remaining funds were donated to a centre for sexually abused children.

“It is an honour for us to be able to help these organisations.

“They do so much good work within our communities, and they are dependent on donations.

“We just hope that our donations will make a difference in the lives of the less-fortunate people that these organisations help.”
