More vehicles despite financial crisis

These are expected to speed up the process of service delivery in the area.

The Westonaria Local Municipality has announced that they have purchased another load of fleet vehicles recently.

The fleet consists of four vans and two ‘cherry picker’ trucks which will be used for service delivery and electricity maintenance as well as renovations of street lights.

This is in addiction to the four traffic cars recently bought and it is expected to improve services within the Westonaria jurisdiction.

According to municipal spokesperson Kgabane Madiehe, the council is confident that some service delivery issues will be addressed with the new resources.

“Over the months, we have been faced with violent service delivery protests and we obviously want to address those challenges.

“We went and secured the necessary resources for this and we are pleased to announce that we will be hard at work now that we are equipped,” says Madiehe.

He adds that this will help restore Westonaria’s image as the town of choice.
