A 30-year-old man has been shot during a confrontation with his friend’s neighbour at the Dumping Site informal settlement on 9 February at approximately 9.30pm.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, the victim was sitting with his friend when the incident occurred.
“Eyewitnesses at the scene allege that the victim was sitting with his friend when suddenly an argument broke out between him and the neighour.
The reason for this is currently unknown but I can confirm that the suspect then produced a firearm and shot the victim in his arm and upper body,” says Ernst.
She adds the victim was taken to a nearby hospital while the suspect fled on foot.
