Randfontein job fraudster behind bars

He would promise his victims that they would be employed by January 2014 at a fee of R150.

The Randfontein police have arrested a man believed to have been scamming job seekers by promising them jobs at a certain fee.

This comes after the police received a tip-off about the man who was said to be operating in Randfontein and its surrounds after he failed to deliver on his promises.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, the man was operating under a company called Thabo Investments and mining.

So far, approximately 200 people have fallen for this scam and police that this number is likely to grow as the investigation progresses.

Ernst urges everyone who might have fallen victim to this scam to cocontact Warrant Oficer Karlien Coombe On 011 278 8100.
