A Randgate shop was robbed by three armed men on 7 January at approximately 6.15pm.
According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst, the men entered the Union Street shop at around 6.15 while staff was serving the last few customers for the day and getting ready to close.
They produced firearms and forced both employees and customers to the floor.
The men managed to bag an undisclosed amount of money while holding customers and staff at gunpoint, and then fled from the scene.
It remains unclear whether they fled on foot or in a getaway vehicle
