Culemborg Park house robbery suspects arrested

Randfontein police managed to arrest four men after a house robbery in Culemborg Park.

Four men were arrested following a house robbery in Culemborg Park on 24 December.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, the incident occurred at approximately 10pm.

“It is understood that the 29-year-old victim was expecting a friend to visit, and when he saw someone entering his property, he thought that it was the friend, and did not suspect anything untoward.”

The robbers made their way into the victim’s home and cornered him in his bedroom where they produced firearms and held him at gunpoint.

One of the suspects tied up the victim and shoved him under the bed.

The suspects ransacked the house and managed to take numerous household items.

Meanwhile, the victim’s friend arrived at the house and immediately noticed that something was wrong.

The friend contacted the Randfontein SAPS, who upon arrival at the scene managed to arrest two of the suspects and recover some of the stolen goods.

Two of the suspects managed to get away, but further investigations into the incident led to their arrests.

According to Ernst the victim did not sustain any serious injuries during the ordeal.
