Cop killers sentenced

We are glad that justice has been done.

Two men accused of murdering Randfontein detective Constable Mpho Boshomane (33) in Kagiso in March this year, were slapped with a harsh jail term at the Gauteng High Court on 4 December.

Boshomane had just dropped off his girlfriend at her home on the day in question when he was attacked by by Jabulani Mngomezulu and Mandla Khubeka, who stabbed him to death and fled in his vehicle, a VW Polo which was later recovered a short distance from where the stabbing had occurred.

Robbery and murder accused Jabulani Mngomezulu (26) and his co-accused Mandla Khubeka (25) were given 18 years direct imprisonment for the robbery as well as life sentences for murder.

According to Randfontein SAPS spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst, Boshomane’s body was found lying in the street by a passing motorist in the early hours of the morning on the day in question.

“We are glad that justice has been done.

“The dedicated provincial task team led by Kagiso detective Captain Reddy worked around the clock on the case and managed to arrest the suspect.

“It is through their hard work and dedication that the court was able to secure a satisfactory conviction,” says Ernst.

  1. What is 18 years , When I family lost a breadwinner or a future husband?I still say that the law is very lenient on such people.
