The Bekkersdal cemetery is nearing its full capacity and residents of Westonaria are urged to make use of the Simunye cemetery to avoid disappointments when burying their loved ones.
This was announced by Westonaria Local Municipality spokesperson Kgabane Madiehe who says that the council is anticipating that the Bekkersdal cemetery will be reaching its full capacity around February/March 2014.
“Currently, the cemetery is at 98 per cent full, with available burial space of approximately 150 bodies.
“With the unpredictable rate of mortality, we cannot take any chances hence we urge people to make use of the newly developed Simunye cemetery.
He adds that, should residents seek more clarity or information on the cemeteries, they can contact the Simunye burial office on 011 278-3232/3 between 7.30am and 4pm during the week.
