Local woman launches support group

I have come to realized how many people are still in denial after losing their loved ones.

Following the death of her son who died on 22 December 2010, Mohlakeng resident Thembi Kunene has decided to launch the Tiisetso support group aimed at giving comfort and inner peace to those who have lost their loved ones.

According to Kunene, since her son’s burial, she came to realize how many people are still in denial after losing their loved ones.

This made her decide to try and assist people going through the same problems.

“I lost my son in a tragic taxi accident and I have been strong ever since.

“Initially we find that people are there for you when you lose a loved one but they are hardly there after the burial and that’s where you need them most.

“This support group is meant to bridge that gap and look at what can be done for those who are mourning their loved ones,” says Kunene.

She adds that in order to achieve this mandate, the group will be inviting preachers and to address them and give them words of courage.

She plans to host the support group from her home every Sunday at 3pm.

Those who wish to join in on the support group can contact Kunene on 076 524 6565.
