Violence spread to Randfontein

Violent service delivery protests continue to plague Westonaria and now it seems that the violence has spread to Randfontein.

Residents of the Oliver Tambo informal settlement near Sungate Farms on the Ventersdorp Road have blocked off the road, burned tyres, pelted stones and vandalised police vehicles on 15 October.

Tensions apparently are also nearing boiling point at some of the other informal settlements in Randfontein, so rather stay on the safe side and avoid the Ventersdorp Road.
