Your councillor is now part of a service delivery WhatsApp group

The municipal spokesperson revealed the WhatsApp group is already proving to be fruitful as it helps in alerting the municipality about service delivery issues residents are faced with.

The Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) is committed to tackling service delivery issues and has established a WhatsApp line, where such issues are reported and where the progress made is communicated.

The WhatsApp group is available to ward councillors and other members of the municipality from the different departments, and this is where issues of service delivery are communicated.

RWCLM spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa said the WhatsApp group is proving to be fruitful as it helps in alerting the municipality about service delivery issues residents are faced with.

“This WhatsApp group is a great tool of communication, as it helps our different departments to be in the know about service delivery issues in our region. z

It allows us to be able to disperse relevant departments to deal with whatever issues and this results in us being able to attend to issues a lot faster,” said Montshiwa.

He added that residents are therefore encouraged to make contact with their ward councillors when faced with issues of service delivery, and the councillors will in turn communicate these issues in the WhatsApp group.
