Refuse removal affected in parts of Rand West City

The municipality released a statement and said that they are experiencing technical problems with refuse removal.

The Rand West City Local Municipality (RWCLM) is facing challenges with its refuse removal department and as a result, rubbish has gone uncollected in some parts of Rand West City.

This is according to RWCLM spokesperson Phillip Montshiwa who issued a statement last Friday, May 12 stating that the municipality is experiencing technical problems with refuse removal.

This resulted in delays in refuse removal in certain areas. As a result, waste was not collected on time, leading to refuse accumulation in certain areas of town.

“Despite the inconvenience caused, the municipality is doing its best to resolve the matter and restore refuse removal services to the area as soon as possible. The areas that were not serviced will get attention throughout the week,” said Montshiwa, who added that they apologise for any inconvenience caused.
