Tenant held at gunpoint during Helikon Park armed robbery

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security revealed two serious incidents in Helikon Park just days apart.

A tenant was held at gunpoint during an armed robbery in Helikon Park last week.

It was one of two serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Rand West City for the period from Monday, April 24 to Sunday, April 30.

The security company’s operations manager Danie Vermeulen explained the Helikon Park armed robbery took place at 10:00 last Wednesday, April 26.

“Suspects gained entry by lifting the main gate off the rail and forcing open the security gate and front door. The suspects held the tenant at gunpoint and went on to steal one TV, one laptop, one cell phone, and various jewellery.”

In a separate incident that also occurred in Helikon Park just a day later, at about 14:53 on Thursday, April 27, Vermeulen said an attempted break-in was reported.

He said suspects gained entry by lifting the main gate of the rail who then attempted to force open the front door but fled when the alarm was triggered.
