Body found near burnt-out car in grim discovery in Westonaria
Police made a disturbing discovery after the body of an unknown man was found near a burnt vehicle in an open veld in Westonaria.
The body of a man was found in an open veld near a burnt-out vehicle next to the N12 in Westonaria.
Westonaria Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Audrey Sefara confirmed the disturbing discovery was made at about 18:30 on Monday, February 13.
“We received a complaint about a body being found and on arrival, a security officer pointed out to police where the body was lying. It was that of an unknown man. We also found a yellow jersey and black cap together with car keys.”

Sefara added a burnt-out silver-grey VW Polo was also found not far from the body and the deceased was taken to the Carletonville mortuary.
“No arrests have yet been made but investigations are ongoing.”
Westonaria Police Station Commander Colonel Jurie Ferreira urged the community to assist the police with any information.
