Domestic worker tied up, multiple items stolen in Helikon Park

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security released its latest crime report in the Rand West City that included two separate armed robbery incidents.

A domestic worker was overpowered and tied up during an armed house robbery in Helikon Park – this according to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security’s list of incidents for Rand West City for the period Monday, January 2 to Sunday, January 8.

The security company’s operations manager Danie Vermeulen explained the incident took place at 09:48 last Friday, January 6.

“Suspects informed the domestic worker that they are there to fix broken electrical plugs. The domestic opened the gate and the suspects overpowered her. The suspects tied the domestic up and went on to steal two TVs, one microwave, one kettle, one DVR screen and one cell phone. The suspects then fled the scene in a white double cab with unknown registration number,” stated Danie.

Details about other incidents:

1. Friday, January 6 at 04:40 – Housebreaking and theft in Raven Street, Greenhills

Suspects gained entry into the house by breaking a window and went on to steal a TV.

2. Sunday, January 8 at 14:35 – Armed robbery in Marina Street, Randfontein

Suspect gained entry and pointed a firearm at worker and demanded cash. The worker handed the suspect an unknown amount of cash and her cell phone and the suspect then fled the scene.
