Severe thunderstorms on route to Gauteng

A yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms has been issued by the South African Weather Services for today, December 5. Potential threats include large amounts of small hail and localised flooding.

Gauteng Weather posted an alert from the South African Weather Service (SAWS) warning residents of a massive storm that’s expected for the entire Gauteng on Monday, December 5 from 12:00 until 23:59.

The Gauteng Weather’s Tweeted that potential threats include large amounts of small hail and localised flooding.

The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a yellow level 2 warning for severe thunderstorms resulting in localised flooding of low susceptible formal/ informal settlements and roads, and large amounts of small hail, and excessive lightning causing localised damages to property is expected today, December 5.
This is expected to affect places over Gauteng, Limpopo, parts of Mpumalanga, eastern parts of the Free State and North West Province extending to central and northern KwaZulu-Natal.
