Some Randfontein residents have taken matters into their own hands by filling up potholes in different parts of town.
This was evident when the Herald spotted Reverend Henning Rademeyer from the NG Randfontein North church, together with other members of the community who were filling up the potholes on Kenneth Road in Greenhills last Friday, November 18.

Speaking to the Herald in an interview, Rademeyer said they decided to fill up the potholes after receiving a donation of tar from a member of his congregation.
“A member donated two buckets of tar and that’s when we decided to seize the opportunity and head out to the streets. We had already identified numerous potholes across town, and we then gathered a few people to help out. We then started with the ones near our church.
“What we are doing is small, we don’t have enough for all the potholes around, but we want to start a project where we can hopefully fill more potholes in the future,” said Rademeyer.
