Management issues statement after Randgate Clinic burglary: Several arrests made

Several suspects have been arrested after burglars had broken into the Randgate Clinic on October 5.

Management of the Randgate Clinic have committed to beefing up security at the facility following the break-in on Wednesday October 6.

According to Nicholas Mwangi, acting Chief Director of the West Rand District Health Services (WRDHS) many clinics around the Gauteng area are being targeted by burglars, adding that it was becoming a worrying trend.

“In our clinic, six TV sets and three computers were stolen,” Mwangi said.

Luckily, none of the staff members or patients were injured as the incident happened at night when the clinic was closed.

Mwangi couldn’t deny or confirm whether the incident involved some of the staff members, but said at this stage the case is being investigated by the Randfontein Police.

Randfontein Police spokesperson Sergeant Carmen Hendricks confirmed that several suspects have been arrested, and a case of business burglary has since been opened.
