West Rand Women Sports Awards – Here are your winners!

West Rand Women Sport Awards held in the West Rand region for the first time.

Twelve winners of the West Rand Women Sport Awards hosted by Futballing Girls were announced on Monday 14 September during the ceremony at the West Rand District Municipality.

Kgopotso Mathunyane, spokesperson of Futballing Girls, said it was the first time the annual award ceremony – the first of which was held in 2018 – was being hosted on the West Rand.

“Futballing Girls was founded as a platform to empower and celebrate women in sport, and those helping to make a difference,” Mathunyane said. This year’s digital edition saw the addition of more categories to give more women an opportunity to be celebrated.

It makes me overjoyed to be the first to be celebrated as the Sportswoman of the Year within the West Rand Region, especially since the West Rand is this year’s host.”
