Rand West City now has 1 703 confirmed cases of Covid-19; 74 deaths reported in the district
Currently, 5 576 people are being treated for the virus in public and private hospitals in the province.
As at 14 July, the number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Rand West City stood at 1 703, according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 411 people have recovered so far.

Mogale City and Merafong City, which are also part of the West Rand District, have had 3 752 and 1 575 cases respectively. There are 91 unallocated cases in this District as well. Mogale City and Merafong City have seen 851 and 637 recoveries respectively.
The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the West Rand District as 14 July is 7 121, with 74 deaths and 1 899 recoveries. There are 218 new cases.
In the neighbouring City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality Region C, which comprises Roodepoort, the number of confirmed cases to date stands at 6 487, with 2 693 recoveries.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 107 070, with 40 144 recoveries and 726 deaths.
