Woman’s naked body found in Aureus

'The deceased was naked with a pair of blue jeans and a shirt lying on top of her body' - Randfontein Police.

A statement from the Randfontein Police has advised the community that a young woman’s nude body has been discovered lying next to a warehouse behind the Home Affairs offices in Aureus.

According to Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, the Randfontein Police spokesperson, a case of murder is under investigation.

“At about 10.15am on Monday, 14 October, police received a complaint about a body found on Main Reef Road. Upon their arrival on scene, they found a woman with her hands tied behind her back and bleeding from her nose.

“The deceased was naked with a pair of blue jeans and a shirt lying on top of her body. The woman is believed to be aged between 20 and 25. The motive for the killing is unknown and the case is being investigated.”

Sergeant Hendricks added that the killing of women and children is affecting more and more families in one way or another.

“The Randfontein Police have a Victim Empowerment Centre and members of the community are invited to approach them if they need help.”

Colonel Rand Thai Makgatho, the acting Randfontein Police station commander, condemned the killing of any human being and is asking the community to help the police to bring the perpetrator/s to justice.
