The Bekkersdal Police have launched an investigating after human skeletal remains were found in the Bekkersdal area last week.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, confirmed that a hunter had discovered human remains in an open veld near Thabong Village and the Ezulwinin mine on Friday, 7 June and immediately alerted the police.
“At this stage we are unable to determine whether the deceased was a man or woman. The cause and time of death are also uncertain, but an investigation into the matter is under way,” Lefakane said.
