Two weekend murders shocks Randfontein

The Randfontein Police is investigating two unrelated murders that took place in Homelake and the dumping site over the weekend

Two cases of murder is being investigated by the Randfontein Police following two unrelated incidents that took place over the weekend.

According to Sergeant Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson a murder occurred at Linda Court in Freda Avenue in Homelake on 30 March at approximately 09.53 am.

”The police were investigating a murder scene were the sister found the victim inside his home with blood around him. The emergency services were contacted and the victim was declared dead on the scene with an empty cartridge next to him,” she said.

”In another unrelated incident, a body was found in an open field behind the dumping site on 29 March at approximately 11 pm,” Hendricks said.

The police was summoned to a murder scene and upon arrival a member found an unknown man who introduced himself and then pointed to were the body was lying.

”The body was lying in the bushes with three empty cartridges next to him. The Department of Health emergency medical services were contacted and the unknown man was declared dead on the scene. The deceased was wearing a black jeans, boots, reflecting jacket and a blanket.”

The motives of the murders are unknown and Randfontein Detectives is urging the community to come forward with any information that could assist them to bring the perpetrators to book and in finding the relatives and identity the deceased that was found in the open field.
