BREAKING: Police nail intruders before they could attack

Randfontein Police arrested five men and seized two firearms after receiving a tip-off about a possible house robbery in Randgate late on Friday afternoon.

On Friday, 11 January, a number of R’fonteiners gathered to see five men being arrested at a garage in Lazar Avenue, Randgate.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, the Randfontein Police spokesperson, said that the arrests were the result of a tip-off.

Members of the West Rand K9 Unit received information about a possible house robbery in Randgate. They received the vehicle description and registration and started searching for the vehicle in Randfontein,” she said.

“The suspect’s identities are still unknown at the moment. The police also recovered two unlicensed firearms,” Hendricks added.
