Two shot dead in ownership dispute

A dispute between three people about house-ownership led to a double murder in Randfontein two days ago.

Two people were shot and killed in a house-ownership dispute in Bhongweni, Randfontein on Wednesday, 5 December.

Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed the incident that took place on Harley Street near Lenmed Randfontein Private Hospital at about 9pm.

“Allegedly there was a misunderstanding about house-ownership and who could occupy the house. A fight broke out and the two victims were shot. Both of them died. The shooter fled the scene on foot and is still at large.”

Brigadier Mashole Jacob Manamela, the Randfontein Police station commander is concerned about the killings in the area and requested that the community come forward with information that will lead to the arrest of the suspect.
