Foreign shop-owner shot, robbed in Bekkersdal

The unknown perpetrators are still at large

A foreign tuckshop owner was shot and robbed by three suspects in the Spooktown informal settlement in Bekkersdal two days ago.

Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal police spokesperson, said, “At about 7pm on Tuesday, 30 October, it is alleged the shop-owner was inside when he noticed three men enter his premises. One of them remained outside the gate. It is further alleged that a community member who was in the same yard became curious after noticing the door of the tuckshop closing.”
