Three suspects were arrested when the Soweto K9 Unit found drug-manufacturing equipment on a premises in Middelvlei, Randfontein on Wednesday, 3 October.
Constable Carmen Hendricks, Randfontein Police spokesperson said a 60-year-old man and two women aged 20 and 37 were arrested on charges of manufacturing drugs, dealing in drugs and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

“It is alleged by members of the Soweto K9 Unit that they were acting on information they had received regarding a possible drug laboratory.
It is further alleged that members found numerous pieces of drug-manufacturing equipment and chemicals used in the manufacturing of narcotics, as well as two unlicensed firearms, which were seized,” said Hendricks.
Colonel Rand Makgatho, the acting Randfontein Police station commander expressed his gratitude towards the members for being vigilant and ensuring that the perpetrators were brought to book. He further thanked the members of the community who gave the information to the police.
“Together we can win this fight against crime,” he concluded.
