Another woman raped after accepting lift

Westonaria Police revealed that another woman had been raped after accepting a lift.

Another woman, this time a 36-year-old, was raped after being offered a lift by a stranger.

The incident happened on 5 August and comes just two days after a 29-year-old woman was raped after accepting a lift from a man in a red SUV.

Westonaria Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane said in the incident on 5 August, the victim was on her way to work, when she got a lift from the driver of a white VW Polo Vivo hatchback.

“He then drove towards the dumping site in Westonaria and when the victim tried to tell him that he was getting lost, he slapped her in the face.

He took the victim deeper into the bushes and started to rape her. When the suspect allegedly encountered some difficulties he threatened to kill the victim as he was armed with a firearm. He left the victim there and drove off.
