Man stabbed to death in group clash

Man stabbed to death by large group of men outside tavern in Westonaria.

A man was stabbed to death following an argument with a group of at least seven men at a tavern in a Westonaria informal settlement during the weekend.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane said the incident took place at the Thusang Speruperu informal settlement in the early hours of Saturday morning (25 August).

Sebonyane said reports from the community suggest the victim had an argument with the suspects shortly before he was killed.

“The victim ran outside and the suspects followed him and stabbed him to death,” Sebonyane said.

A 32-year-old has since been arrested and police are looking for six others. The suspect is to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon.
