New radio station on the West Rand
SOVH Radio, said to be the newest radio station on the West Rand, is an online contemporary radio station based in Westonaria.
Spirit Of Various Hustlers (SOVH) RadioTv is an online radio station in Westonaria that has been streaming for a month.
Lebogang Modibedi, the station manager, said, “The reason for starting SOVH RadioTv was to cover issues that are affecting the people, not just within the West Rand, and focusing on finding new solutions to everyday challenges.
“The decision to go online was an easy one because in a digital age where most people have a smart phone or a computer and WIFi spots are popping up everywhere, we felt that we could reach more people online. Plus, with streaming, you will never miss your favourite shows, no matter where you are.”
Thina Phaswana, SOVH RadioTv CEO, said he had always wanted to help aspiring business owners by giving them a platform where they can air their ideas.
“The station is 100 per cent youth owned and youth funded, and has employed 25 young people. We have the best team on the West Rand – the world just wasn’t ready for SOVH RadioTv,” Thina said.
He added that SOVH Radio is ready to broadcast for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
“SOVH RadioTv is more than just radio; we are giving the world a taste of the West Rand.
“Remember, when frequency fails, SOVH Radio #WeOnIt,” Thina added.
