Get to know a ‘Teiner’ #70 – Suné van Schalkwyk

The 70th person in the Herald's Get to know a Randfonteiner project introduces herself.

Meet Suné van Schalkwyk, the good Samaritan of the town who only gives herself to the betterment of others.

The 43-year-old Suné from Greenhills is an assistant teacher of children with Down Syndrome and Autism, so that they can be better equipped in life.

“After school, I helped my husband in church by assisting drug addicts to recover from their addictions.”

She added that by doing this, she was helping to give those who need help a new lease on life.

“I also love helping the people of Randfontein who have a drug problem.”

Asked how she feels about Randfontein, Suné said she loves living here because it is a lovely town.

“It is a close-knit community and I feel like everyone is one big family.”

Suné also enjoys art and spends her free time painting.

“I also like making art craft.”
