Three wanted in Ackermans robbery

Community is warned not try to apprehend these three suspects as they are deemed armed and dangerous.

Three men are still wanted in connection with an Ackermans store robbery that occurred two months ago.

Warrant Officer Raymond Sebonyane, the Westonaria Police spokesperson, said the incident happened at about 9.30am on Sunday, 8 April.

“It is alleged the victim was on duty when an unknown man approached her, pointed a gun at her and ordered her to open the cash register.

He took money from the cash register. The victim then saw two other unknown men pushing customers and a security guard to the kitchen,” Sebonyane said.

He added that the suspects fled the scene in a silver/ grey Volvo S40 with the security guard’s firearm and an undisclosed amount of cash.

The victim meanwhile was able to identify the suspects by means of ID kit pictures.

According to Sebonyane, Suspect 1 is approximately 47 years old, about 1,70m tall, of medium build and coffee-coloured in complexion. Suspect 2 is between the ages of 30 and 35, about 1,68m tall, slender, coffee-coloured in complexion with short (brushed) hair. Suspect 3 is approximately 35 years old, about 1,70m tall, of medium build and light in complexion.

The Westonaria Police have urged anyone with any information to contact the investigating officer, Constable Vincent Mantanga, on 082 412 4461, or alternatively to contact the Westonaria Police on 011 278 5300, or the Crime Stop number – 08600 10111.

“The community is warned not try to apprehend the suspects as they are dangerous and all armed with fire-arms,” police said.
