Mom and puppies saved from certain death
ER24: Paramedics searched the property, they discovered five puppies with their mother.
Two ER24 paramedics showed that their heroism goes beyond saving people. They have compassion for animals as well.
Wiets Botes and Lourens Coetzer responded to a house fire in Elandsvlei on Monday 20 November at approximately 3.30pm and found that a store was on fire. Fortunately no injuries were reported on scene.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring said when the paramedics searched the property, they discovered five puppies with their mother. The puppies belonged to one of the workers on the property.

The rescued mom and her puppies were subsequently returned to their rightful owner. The paramedics told the Herald that the owner and his children were very happy to see the mom and puppies safe and sound.
