Thanks for your empty promises

What are they doing with my +/–R2 000pm ground levy?

Staff have to take their own toilet paper, soap, coffee, tea and accessories to work.

The ‘switchboard’ consists of a one line normal telephone, so if a caller is on the line, no other calls can be answered or made. At 10.50am, while walking down the passages, all I saw was staff sitting in groups in offices around tables eating chips and bread, drinking soft drinks, and chatting.

What has happened ? Who is in charge ? Don’t arrive at 2.50pm, the door (security gate) will not be opened.

“We are closed.” Machines are offline already. The last 10 minutes are used to comb each other’s hair, apply makeup or paint nails. A high level official is never available or in his office. A message can be left with an assistant but no follow-up will be made. If they are so deeply in debt, how come there were funds to upgrade the front entrance currently?

I have been begging since 1983 to have Alida Avenue in Loumarina Smallholdings upgraded from gravel and dust to tar. This road is no longer a farm road – it is built up to capacity.

New residents keep on requesting that the gravel be graded. My vehicle is currently at a panel beaters. The corrugations in the road caused the front nudge bar to snap off and the back dust flap is loose.

According to the panel beater, if I had not noticed the loose flap, the nudge bar might have fallen off while driving. The road becomes a river when water flows down through the properties on Elizabeth Avenue and Peter Road. I still have the newspaper page, dated 1983, on which my first meeting [with the municipality] on the premises [was reported] – to no avail, even after numerous requests.

The sidewalks of some parts of Alida Avenue are approximately 3 to 4 metres deep, and then they want to grade them again. Please someone, help before a bad accident happens. The tipper trucks, security vehicles and racers all misuse the road.

To the high level official – did you ever get into your vehicle as you advised you would do and inspect the road?

No. You have a tar road. You don’t suffer from emphysema and your wife doesn’t have to wash curtains once a week.
