#MandelaDay: ANC and municipality treat children to 67 minutes of lunch

Councillor and RWCLM MMC for Finance spent her 67 minutes handing out food and lucky packets to children and the elderly of two informal settlements.

Tina Grobler, ANC PR councillor for Ward 9 and MMC for Finance at the Rand West City Local Municipality spent her 67 minutes for Mandela Day treating a number of children to lunch.

The Herald was invited to attend Tina’s handover of hotdogs and lucky packets to approximately 100 children from the Eureka and OR informal settlements in Elandsvlei. Some goods were also give to elderly people, specifically at the Eureka Informal Settlement.

Everyone present clapped their hands happily, very excited to see Tina in what can best be described as a touching moment.

Melanie Tiedt from Proudly Baked, where she makes and sells plates of food, helped Tina to make the hot dogs and sort out the lucky packets.

This was certainly a day the children will not forget soon.
