Resident finalist for Mrs GRAND South Africa 2017
The search is on for the next Mrs GRAND South Africa and Rosa from Westonaria has been selected as a finalist.
The search is on for the next Mrs GRAND South Africa! Rosa van Niekerk, long-term family lawyer from Westonaria, has been selected as a finalist in this year’s competition.
The Pageant, now in its second year, aims to empower women with the knowledge to inspire and motivate other women and to bring sustainable change in the country.
For 2017, the Pageant has adopted Reinhardt Drewel SA as their official cause. RDF SA is the first of its kind in South Africa. Their mission is to raise awareness of drowning risk, and to provide aid to non-fatal drowning victims.
Stageline Professional is the official makeup sponsor of the pageant, and Zee World the Media Sponsor.
The winner will represent South Africa at the Mrs Universal and Mrs Universe Elegance pageants in 2018. The Grand Finale will take place at The Roodepoort Theatre on 15th of June 2017.
More about the finalist:
• Rosa is happily married to Jacobus van Niekerk, and has been for 12 years.
• They have two beautiful daughters Rosa-Jasmine (11) and Isabelle (8).
• Rosa has been a lawyer in Westonaria for 17 years. She is known for her work in family law, and especially for helping women and children that are victims of abuse. However, her practice also encompasses much civil and criminal law, both the Magistrate’s and High Courts.
• Four words in which she would describe herself is: Happy, Brave, Strong, and Passionate.
• Her “happy place” is with her five horses, which the Van Niekerk family stables and cares for themselves. According to Rosa, she feels as if she is totally free when she is out riding. What is more, it is an activity that she and her daughters love sharing, making it even more special.
• Rosa has a passion transforming women through makeup and beauty.
• The Van Niekerk family’s top family outings are the movies, and eating out.
• The thing that gives her most hope in this world is knowing that her family supports her unconditionally, along every step of her journey.
