Robbers pretend to be customers, rob business

Café in Randfontein targeted by three armed robbers during office hours.

A café in Hectorton, Randfontein was recently targeted by three armed robbers while a 30-year-old cashier was still on duty.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, the Randfontein Police spokesperson, the business robbery took place at approximately 3pm one Friday last month.

The victim was allegedly approached by two unknown men who pretended to be customers. Once all of the other shoppers had left and the shop became quiet, the two men pulled a firearm and a knife on the cashier.

The robbers forced him from behind the counter to give them money as well as a cellphone. Once they got what they were there for, they fled the scene on foot.
